Rick, why are you on Syr.they lost RB injured in spring ball and only have 10 starters back with 4 on defence.
Granted Wash.is not much better but do have 6 starters on defence back, just curious what put you on them,My first thought was Syr.now not sure, any insight next hour would be app.GL Jim
Jim, Here is one analysis I agree with:
Both teams are similar in that both coaches enter this season on the hot seat and will rely on young, unproven quarterbacks.
But Syracuse has a huge advantage with a sold-out Carrier Dome, which can be very loud when it’s not filled to capacity and the Orange are doing well.
Imagine what it’s going to be like in there tonight with a capacity crowd for the first Friday night game in school history.
Washington coach Ty Willingham will start redshirt freshman Jake Locker at quarterback. He is the gem of Willingham’s second recruiting class, but I have to question how he’s going to handle the noise in his first start. The Huskies’ offensive line situation is tenuous, so it’s not like they are going to roll out five road-graders to protect the new quarterback.
Syracuse did allow only 22 ppg at home last year, including just 28 to offensive juggernaut Louisville.
The Orange have buried non-conference visitors to the tune of 18-2 ATS, including 5-0 ATS under coach Greg Robinson. Washington, on the other hand, is just 4-22 ATS in its last 26 games as a chalk.
Take the points as Syracuse defends their dome and keeps it close throughout, and don’t be surprised to see them pull off the outright win.
Jim: We will see if this bet makes sense when the final second is up.
As always, money management saves the day. Good Luck!
