Cage Match Standings Going Into the Final Round Tonight: We are down a terrible 4 units or 80 dimes so far Tuesday through Sunday while the Bookie Basher is up 27 dimes. The winner of our handicapper challenge will be decided by tonight's Monday night football game and the Red Sox/Angels game. Basher has 100 dimes on the football game. We have 200 dimes on the football game, a 100 dime bet on the Saints and a 100 dime bet on the over. We also have 100 dimes on the Boston Red Sox as well, a late play we are putting up after doing some math. But we love this game. Lackey is 3-12 in his last 15 starts versus Boston. The Angels are 1-10 in their last ten playoff games. Boston is 21-7 in their last 28 playoff games. Boston is at home and we like the pitching matchup. Now if Mr. Basher wins his 100 dime bet he will be up 127 dimes on the week. If we win all three of our bets we will be up 220 dimes on the week. Sure, the odds are in his favor, but we got a chance.
Our standard bet is 100 dimes. Our philosophy is one quality bet is just as good as another. The Bookie Basher can easily become Handicapper of the Week over at ParlayHelp.com. Now you would not think 127 dimes would make you the winner, but it seems the case. Check out their records. One capper is down $4,870 (Update: this capper goes down $6,840 on the week) and another one is down $4,655 on the week before tonight's games. The amazing thing is people are paying for these picks! Oh well, I guess P. T. Barnum was right. Good luck to the Basher, he has proven himself to be a decent handicapper. We hope he wins Handicapper of the Week. And we hope the Saints win big tonight with a lot of points scored and that Jon Lester and the Red Sox deliver for us. Tune in for the cage match tonight. This is for all the marbles, tonight its for the King of the Cage! We are nervous about tonight. Everything has to go our way. But after seeing Seth Petruzelli take out Kimbo Slice we can hope. And if the Basher does by some miracle lose, he will still be a winner in our book for being such a good sport. But now its time to enter the cage, as our old friend Mills Lane use to say: Lets get it on!
Update - Cage Match Results: Trying to crawl out of the cage in a daze to escape the Bookie Basher's relentless assaults we slip on top of the cage and fall on the Basher, knocking him out. Results of our handicapping contest: See You in The Winners Circle - Up 10 dimes (1/2 unit) on the week (our sports monitor now shows this result for the last seven days above, and it will be there for the next 24 hours, our complete record here), Bookie Basher - Down 83 dimes on the week per his monitor. Bookie was a good sport about the whole thing and proved himself to be a class act, earning our respect. We both had the Saints. No more bashing the Basher, any challengers?:
