Handicapper Update: Phil Steele releases a two star on San Diego.....smart betters know to fade Northcoast Sports plays and they got an easy winner on the Seattle Seahawks. Thanks Phil.
The Bookie "the Chaser" Basher is making new videos. On his Monday video he admits he lost 674 dimes last week. He put out a 20 dime play today which lost, its gonna take forever for his new subscribers to come back from last weeks huge debacle. He is now 694 dimes down since midnight Sunday, August 17. Stay tuned.
That small town handicapper guy from back east, Bobby Clarke has been on a roll, up $3,255 last week according to the gregarious John Werner at ParlayHelp.com, the sports monitor. When everyone else was down today, Mr. Clarke was up another $200. Cool it Bobby, you are making these other guys look bad.

Handicapper Update: Phil Steele lost another two of his top three NFL preseason games yesterday and Bookie Basher increased his losses to over 650 dimes for the week. Northcoast has a Marquee play today on the Colts -5 1/2 over the Bills. Results: Phil's Colts pick lost outright 7-20. Colts have a record of losing preseason football. So why would Phil pick them? Nobody could deliberately give out as many losing sides as Phil Steele has this preseason....get another profession Phil...this one is not working out. Wouldn't you hate to be a new customer of the Basher starting this week or someone new taking Phil Steele's preseason plays, ouch! Folks, rule one: NEVER PAY FOR A PICK!

THIS JUST IN...there is a rumor that the Bookie Basher has had his handicapping license pulled. Nevada Handicapping Commission Chairman Stuart H. Feiner reports it was because he "was chasing losses." Commissioner Jim Feist said, "We can't believe what happened. He has no idea how to run a boiler room operation." Commissioner Brian King commented on Chairman Feiner winning 350 dimes yesterday and about his winning record this week - "We won. We got the job done. Now, listen, listen, listen. We told the Basher to stop with the video, we were tired at looking at his sorry excuses. If he loses again next week, we will know he is toast. We may order him to take some remedial handicapping and money management training immediately. But he could turn out to be the greatest gambler since Nick the Greek was in town." We did call the Bookie Basher early this morning and left him our Marlin's pick on his answering machine. We told him to give out a 700 Dime pick on it. Note: The Nevada Handicapping Commission is not an agency of the State of Nevada.

"Nick the Greek" Dandolos (1883-1966) Quotes:

"Going to the bathroom during a poker or a dice game is a mistake. You might miss a hot hand worth a hundred thousand, and nothing in the bathroom is worth that much."

"Luck! There is such a thing, and I know that there is, because it comes in two kinds. Good and bad."

"The next best thing to gambling and winning is gambling and losing."

"Nick the Greek" died penniless on Christmas day 1966. It's estimated that he won and lost over $500 million in his lifetime. He himself claimed that he went from rags to riches over 73 times. Such is the life of a professional gambler.

Vegas Handicapper Report - We are sad to report that Lieutenant Colonel Bookie Basher crashed and burned his air force jet outside the Nellis Test Range near Las Vegas last night. Colonel Basher has had 17 consecutive weeks of winners but this week he is down 302.5 dimes so far. He is chasing so his losses could be huge by Sunday night. A General S. Feiner from the airbase reports to us that Colonel Basher's career is washed up. General Feiner stated, "Colonel Basher's flying days are over, he has lost his touch. He is out of control now with his betting, trying to save his reputation." A Major B. King told us it was only a matter of time: "Hell I made money this week, up five out of the last six days, what is his problem? He has had a streak of good luck but its all over now. Sure he is chasing. But I am not gonna call him a degenerate gambler, not unless his losses are over 600 dimes by Sunday night. Instead of living with a manageable loss on the week, he is in gamblers ruin mode. Upping his bets to get into profit for one week, he is at risk of losing two months worth of gains. His customers are following him off the side of the cliff like lemmings. The bookies are getting fat. He needs to be making smaller bets when he is losing and live with a manageable loss on the week. Basically, his money management sucks. He is in over his head. I may have to call him with some picks." We called Colonel Basher but he is not answering his phone, word is he is recovering from slight injuries caused when he ejected from his aircraft.

Cleveland Handicapper Update: Phil Steele gave out a 3 star release on the Atlanta Falcons -3 at home over the Tennessee Titans, 4:30 PM Pacific. Congratulations Phil on a rare win.

Oh F**k! We Lose! : Angels -154 With Lackey Listed at Home Over the Twins Lose 1-2 as the Thursday Play of the Day

Take the LA Angels -154 with John Lackey listed as pitcher at home over the Minnesota Twins as the Thursday play of the day, 7:05 PM Pacific. Good luck!

Angels are 12-2 in Lackey's last fourteen starts. The Angels have beat Twins pitcher Scott Baker the last 3 times they've faced him: winning 10-1, 5-1, 6-3, while pounding him for 17 earned runs in just 15 innings pitched.

August Handicapping Disappointment: What the hell happened with Phil Steele of Northcoast Sports? He is usually pretty decent in preseason football but he sucks this year. As an example tonight he gave out the under in the 49ers/Bears game, an easy over, hell it was over at half time. What are you smoking there Phil? Steele is 5-11-1 on Marquee plays this preseason. Phil wants $3,800 for the executive service? If we gave him a nickel we would be the one smoking something. Phil's plays are posted for free on several forums, why we would pay for anything? But even getting his picks free, the way he has been handicapping we are gonna still be a big loser.

Small Town Handicapper Corner: After posting comments on U-Tube and having my comments immediately deleted, I had a short email exchange with one Bobby Clarke. He might be able to delete my comments from his U-Tube posts, but its pure free speech here. Now Bobby has a sports handicapping service called Bobby Clarke Sports. After comparing his very ethical operation, that he is running out of some small town back east, to the big city Farmingdale NY Stu Fiener's boiler room, I see some deficiencies in Mr. Clarke's operation. Namely:

1. He is monitored by the affable John Werner over at ParlayHelp.com. Bobby, how are you gonna lie about your record when you are being monitored?

2. Mr. Clarke only offers a few plays a day and has no clubs or other handicappers. How can you pick and choose to come up with the best record if you got no clubs Bobby, what are you thinking?

3. He posts his complete record of every play from day one to tonight on his website and shows the exact amount of money he is betting on each game instead of the Dime system like the Source Stu Fiener, aka Finer uses. Using real money Bobby? - hey that makes too much sense, where did you get that idea?

4. Bobby is charging $350 for the rest of the year in all sports and he serves up no hype or hard sell. His operation is very ethical. His parents must of sent him to Sunday School when he was young. I wonder if the Source went to Sunday School? Bobby must be from a small town charging so little, hell Stu Feiner charges $59.95 for his picks for a day and then hypes the hell out of them so his hapless clients overbet, all to line his fat pockets. Now our motto is NEVER PAY FOR A PICK, but i guess if you had to....Mr. Clarke's deal might be the best in town. (Hey if you buy his picks, at least post them here every day as a comment.)

Bobby Clarke looks like he is too young to drink but he seems to like beer where it appears Stu Feiner likes his grasshopper ganja and food. Bobby made a comment on his video that impressed us today....never take the run line on the favorite in a baseball game. When we walked into our favorite local legal sports book tonight, we heard the refrain: Take the Angels run line! BS we said! Take a look at all the games that won by one point today. For a small town guy, this Bobby Clarke might not be so dumb after all. At least he is winning. Maybe its all that fresh air and good beer.

Wednesday Play of the Day - Holy Shit! We Win a Game! Go Navy! Our Record an Amazing 5-26-2!

Take Navy +4.5 over Pitt. Navy wins outright!

Eat your heart out Phil Steele (Northcoast Sports). Your marquee play today on Pitt sucked, like your Five Star October Play of the Month this last Saturday on Vandy sucked. Northcoast Sports used to be good on Monday night, but between their side pick and over/under pick Phil Steele is 1-7 the last 4 Monday nights. Ouch! But no one can match our crappy record, not even Phil! And pity the Great One, Chris Jordan and his clients who had 600 units on Pitt. Bummer as they are now down 22,375 units on the year. Hey, have some blue punch, no sugar, no calories, right out of the bowl! You might want to add some gin to it. Go Navy!

Saturday Play of the Day Loses, Our Record Goes to 4-23-2

Ball State -12.5 at Central Michigan.

Ball State loses big! We are 4-23-2 on our plays of the day. We are the Worst Handicapper in America. The next worse is Phil Steele of Northcoast Sports. His October Game of the Month was on Vanderbilt today. He lost big on that play, after charging $50 for that pick. We will take Phil's word for it that Vandy is his best play in October. But if thats the case, shouldn't we bet against him on all his other picks this month? He sucks almost as bad we do. The only difference is, he charges for his picks - we don't. Our advice: Bet against us, and bet against Phil. You can get Phil's picks for free - see the Free Service Plays links. Some require you register, but that is free and easy to do. Remember - Never pay for a pick!
